Before My Adashmore Summer Adventure

Brian Taylor

Marketing Specialist

I decided to apply for and join the Adashmore Creative team for the summer of 2016 because I wanted to gain experience working for a creative marketing agency. I’m a soon to be college graduate with one marketing internship on my resume, but it was with a pharmaceutical company that focused on traditional marketing tactics like direct mail. Because of this, getting a job at a marketing agency was a difficult task, but thankfully the Adashmore team gave me this opportunity.

Coming into this job, I have a significant amount of experience doing competitive research and formulating competitive marketing strategies. I spent the past summer and winter seeing what competing companies were doing both on- and offline to differentiate their products, and how the company I was working for could differentiate themselves.

This summer with Adashmore, however, I am looking forward to learning more about digital marketing strategies, website development, and content creation and delivery. My experience with these tasks is minimal to say the least, but working with a relatively small team at Adashmore will allow me to get hands-on-experience and direct feedback in all of those facets. It will definitely be a challenge for me, but it is a challenge I’m looking forward to.

With a full summer ahead of tackling projects for clients and swimming in uncharted waters, I’m excited for the opportunity to be a member of the Adashmore Creative team!
